Austin Nevada - Photo Page
      Austin is a historic mining town located in central Nevada.   Photos of Ausin, Nevada -- 2001The town was established in 1862 after the discovery of gold and silver. Austin is located in Toyabe National Forest in a deep narrow canyon.

     U.S. Highway 50, which run east and west through Nevada, runs through the middle of Austin - Highway 50 is commonly know as the loneliest road in America.  The town of Austin lies directly in the middle of Nevada.

   The photos on this page were taken in the fall of 2001 -- it was typical clear, crisp, and beautiful day in central Nevada!

Austin Roping Event -- This great photo was taken in Austin on July 27/28, 2002 during the Austin Roping Club Event
Austin Community Park - The Park is located east of town at the base of Austin summit. The park has swimming pool and a joining playground.
Stokes Castle - The Castle over looks the Resse River Valley on west side of Austin, Nevada.
Austin Nevada - This is a mountain view of Austin -- the photo show the north side of Austin featuring the old historic Catholic church.
Austin's historic Protestant church - This old church is located in central Austin on main street; main street is U.S. Highway 50 -- commonly known as the loneliest road in American.
Lander County Court House - The historic court house is also located in central Austin on main street.  
Austin main street - The is view of Austin's historic main street.  
Austin Fire Station - Austin's fire station is on the south site of main street.
